Valeria Numbela
Project Manager LIFE AWOM
I am deeply passionate about environmental conservation and have always aspired to contribute to efforts that protect nature and biodiversity. As the Project Manager for the LIFE AWOM project, I am dedicated to ensuring that the project’s vision is upheld and that its objectives are successfully achieved. This includes demonstrating effective habitat management and restoration techniques to conserve the Aquatic Warbler, a species critical to wetland ecosystems.
Before joining Wetlands International Europe, I gained extensive experience managing and implementing EU-funded projects. My work included contributing to the Assistance and Technical Support for the Evaluation of LIFE proposals and the EU Global Technical Assistance Facility for Sustainable Energy (EU-GTAF).
I hold a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Kent and am fluent in Spanish and English, with a working knowledge of French. Outside of work, I enjoy immersing myself in nature, discovering cozy cafes with a great book, and embarking on adventurous treks to the Himalayas in Nepal whenever the opportunity arises!
