Rivers and Lakes
The European Open Rivers Programme (ORP) – which we are part of – just announced an exciting opportunity to contribute to the restoration of European rivers. A call for applications is open from until 13:00 CET on 13th March 2026. Organisations can apply via an online portal.
This funding opportunity is ideal for projects dedicated to revitalising Europe’s river ecosystems by removing obsolete river barriers. These efforts align with the Open Rivers Programme’s mission to restore endangered European rivers by supporting interventions that lead to the removal of small dams and the restoration of river flow and biodiversity.
A webinar for potential applicants
To support applicants in navigating the process, the ORP is hosting a Q&A webinar on 25th February from 13:00 to 14:00 CET. This webinar is a valuable opportunity to ask questions directly and gain key insights from our expert team. Spots are limited, so save your spot by registering here!
