Peatlands Technical Officer
As Peatlands Technical Officer, I work at the interface between technical knowledge, project implementation, and stakeholder engagement. I translate complex ideas into messages that resonate with diverse audiences in support of peatland conservation across Europe.
I began my career in Argentina studying Biological Sciences, working on projects in coastal wetland ecology. An Erasmus Mundus scholarship then took me to Denmark and Belgium, where I completed an MSc in Soils and Global Change, focusing on how citizen scientists can contribute to wetland monitoring, including peatlands, at a national scale in Denmark. This experience further consolidated my passion for wetland conservation and led me to join Wetlands International Europe, where I support the Peatlands Team’s activities and projects, such as the PEAT-GENIE project, advancing peatland protection and restoration across Europe.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures, thrifting at second-hand shops, and hiking through forests and along bodies of water with a thermos of “mate”, a traditional Argentine drink similar to tea, in hand.
