Alba Alonso Adame

Peatlands Technical Officer
As an environmental scientist, I’m committed towards nature conservation and biodiversity protection. Working as a Technical Officer for Peatlands brings me the opportunity to contribute to peatlands restoration while ensuring the success of PaluWise project as a Work Package Lead. This project will positively contribute to climate targets and biodiversity through sustainable paludiculture and wet farming practices.
Previously, I pursued a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences focused on sustainability transitions in agri-food systems, which gave me experience in both participatory EU projects and knowledge in sustainable agriculture. During my Ph.D., I have worked on projects related to the scaling out of innovative organic farming systems and bio-based fertilizers from agricultural waste streams. Moreover, I hold a Master’s in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology from Pablo de Olavide University in Spain.
My passion for languages makes me fluent in Spanish, English, and Dutch, with an intermediate level of French and a beginner level of Russian. I’m also a nature enthusiast who loves birdwatching and traveling. I enjoy reading, visiting libraries, and discovering nice restaurants around.
