Iberian Conference on River Restoration
The IV Iberian Conference on River Restoration, RestauraRios 2023, aims to look forward to 2030 and encourage dialogue between river recovery enthusiasts, scientists and government officials about river restoration over the next seven years in the context of global change.
The event, which will take place in Toledo, Spain from 21 to 23 June, will bring together people and organisations working on river management, research, planning, restoration as well as environmentalists, river conservation volunteers, communicators and the general public interested in river recovery.
Themes for the Conference include: urban rivers, challenge in river restoration; riparian vegetation and fauna; rivers and environmental education, awareness and communication; and river restoration 20 years after the intoduction of the EU’s water framework directive (WFD).
RestauraRios 2023 is organised by: Iberian Centre of River Restoration (ICRR – CIREF) together with Confederación Hidrográfica del Tajo and the support of Wetlands International – European Association and Dirección General del Agua del Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico de España.
