Reconnecting rivers: Join our European Fish Migration Day Webinar
Next Friday, from 11:00 to 12:15 CEST join our Swimways team and network (TEN-S) to an engaging online event to celebrate European Fish Migration Day. We will gather to highlight efforts made in Europe to improve the conservation of our migratory freshwater fish species and their freshwater habitats. Registration to this Zoom session is mandatory and available here.
We’ll be joined by Dam Removal Europe to hear about recent successes in reconnecting rivers across Europe. As not all barriers can be removed, Tom Dragt from our Swimways team will present his work exploring options to improve fishways design and selection, and we’ll be gathering input and feedback on the topic.
The recently started DanubeLifeLines Horizon project will be introduced, providing a glimpse into its ambitious and exciting workplan to improve habitat connectivity for fish migration, in the Danube river basin and beyond.
Last but not least, upcoming milestones, upcoming events and community gatherings will also be highlighted for us all to plan time for future celebrations, such as the Dam Removal Award and World Fish Migration Day 2026.
