Pelkių atkūrimo ir apsaugos fondas (“Foundation for Peatland Restoration and Conservation”) has joined Wetlands International Europe as a member organisation.

The Wetlands International Europe board approved their membership application in early January.

The Foundation for Peatland Restoration and Conservation is based in Lithuania and led by Nerijus Zableckis. They have sound experience in peatland restoration on the ground, including development of paludiculture pilots, advocacy and voluntary carbon certification.

The Foundation has strong connections in the Baltic region and will bring substantial added value to our network and peatlands programme.
