Project Officer

I support the technical and financial work of Wetlands International Europe concerning the development and implementation of projects that include the complete project cycles, contract management, and reporting processes on restoration, conservation of wetlands ecosystems, and policy incidence topics.

For over seven years, I have been a Program/Project Officer for Hivos Stichting and Wetlands International, supervising portfolios (e.g., for the Amazon region, Africa, and Europe) on landscape conservation, gender equity, indigenous rights, and renewable energies projects. I also have vast experience in forestry, from sustainable tropical forest management to certification and policy. Before moving to The Netherlands in 2016, I worked for development organizations, wood companies, and governments in Latin America (e.g., Bolivia, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua).

My academic track record includes a master’s degree in Environmental Socioeconomics (Costa Rica) and a bachelor’s degree in Forest Engineering (Bolivia). Currently, I have interested in carbon-related topics, nature-based solutions, and landscape finance.
