Joint paper on the Action for Biodiversity in the EU and the Fitness Check of the Birds and Habitats Directives

This joint NGO position paper argues that while a lot remains to be done in Europe to halt biodiversity loss and restore damaged ecosystems, the Birds and Habitats Directives are fit for purpose and should not be revised. Improved implementation, funding and compliance are needed, and additional measures should be put in place to address drivers of biodiversity loss, including as unsustainable agricultural practices.
