Lake Hornborga, Sweden – the return of a bird lake
Published on:
This publication, compiled by the lead organisors of the restoration, chronicles the entire restoration process, from the original objectives, through the planning and feasibility studies and implementation, to the current result. It catalogues the complex process that was required to obtain authorisation for the restoration through the Swedish Water Rights Courts, as well as the conflicts that had to be resolved by the Environmental Protection Agency, not only with the various authorities involved, but also with local landowners, downstream water users and academics.
