This case study report by Wetlands International – European Association and the Italian Centre for River Restoration presents evidence of river restoration measures improving ecological
conditions in eight European rivers.
We analyse the progress in achieving the main objectives of the Water Framework Directive based on case studies, looking at specific aspects of implementation such as improvements in governance, public participation and the spatial scale of restoration actions.
