Raymond Kaggwa
Policy Assistant
I am an intern at Wetlands International Europe contributing to the Trans-European Swimways programme.
My work focuses on studying the economic value of the migratory freshwater fish Swimways in Europe, a criterion in policy advocacy and conservation for these Swimways and fishes.
I have professional background in Aquatic resources management especially wetlands, Nature based solutions, and public outreach. I am passionate about integrating that in conservation strategies. I am currently pursuing a MSc in Marine and Lacustrine science and Management at VUB, UGent & UAntwerpen in Belgium. I hold a BSc in Fisheries and Aquaculture, from Makerere University, Kampala Uganda.
My Interests lie in Nature conservation particularly wetlands, supporting Science-based policy, and enhancing science communication and Outreach. I love wetlands because of the combined love for where I live on land and where my passion is waters.
