EUROLakes project – which we are coordinating – is committed to produce 4 Policy Briefs to support policy and decision makers in fostering implementation, replication and upscaling of natural lake protection and restoration measures that enhance the successful delivery of the European Green Deal.
The project will assess the available policy frameworks at regional, national and European level and facilitate engagement with the most relevant EU policy processes for freshwater ecosystems, such as river basin management plans and national nature restoration plans.
In this first policy brief, we showcase how restoring lake ecosystems can actively support more effective implementation of EU policies.
