Ruben Vernieuwe
Junior Technical Officer, Waterbirds
I am Ruben, and I live in the north of Belgium.
I received my master’s degree in biology (Global change, Ecology) at the University of Gent and I have strong interests in nature management and conservation. I am involved in multiple bird and mammal monitoring projects in Belgium and have participated in projects abroad during my travels. I’m a licensed bird ringer contributing to science as a volunteer.
I am a passionate bird-and-mammal watcher but I have a broad interest in other species groups as well. I am an avid traveller seeking adventure and wildlife.
I’m grateful to be a part of Wetlands international as this gives me the chance to play a part in the international protection of birds and nature.
