Zoë DeFord

Data Visualization Assistant

[email protected]

I joined Wetlands International as a volunteer to support strategy and data processing through visualization and GIS.

I have always been very close to nature and have enjoyed learning about it and teaching others through immersion. Previously, I worked in outdoor education and program management of environmental awareness and outreach programs. Naturally, habitat and wildlife conservation have been long-time interests of mine.

I developed my skills by studying geography, with a focus on GIS, and a minor in sociology while doing ecological research for habitat conservation of the San Marcos river. I have enjoyed many jobs that involve extensive field work to protect and preserve wilderness.

I enjoy working with maps and seeing progress come to life as a result. Backpacking and Geoguessr are some of my hobbies.
