This  collection of papers documents the great geographical extent of lead poisoning in birds from the deposition of spent gunshot. Lead poisoning has been recorded in at least 20 countries, and can be expected to occur wherever lead shot is used for hunting. In addition to the Anatidae, many other species of waterbirds as well as raptors, gamebirds and other terrestrial species, are susceptible.
